Violette Meier

Violette Meier is a happily married mother, writer, folk artist, poet, and native of Atlanta, Georgia, who earned her B.A. in English at Clark Atlanta University and a MDiv at the Interdenominational Theological Center.  She is also a chaplain, certified herbalist, educator, and life enthusiast.

The great-granddaughter of a dream interpreter, Violette loves all things supernatural and enjoys writing paranormal, fantasy, and horror.  She writes fiction that highlights characters from the African diaspora and a diversity of humans and nonhumans alike. Strong women and other marginalized communities shine within the pages of her manuscripts. Complex, intelligent, and intriguing as well as mystifying, surreal, and sometimes downright eerie, Violette’s characters come to life in stories steeped in rich culture, folklore, myths, and legends. She is always working on something new.

Her books include: Out of Night, Angel Crush, Son of the Rock, Archfiend, Ruah the Immortal, Oracles, Tales of a Numinous Nature, Hags, Haints and Hoodoo, With All My Being, Loving and Living Life One Day at a Time, Violette Ardor: A Volume of Poetry, This Sickness We Call Love: Poems of Love, Lust, and Lamentation, and two children's books.
